The app covers key historical periods such as the Middle Ages, the Reformation, the Plague, and the Industrial Revolution. These periods shaped Wittenberg’s cultural, religious, and economic heritage and illustrate why the city plays such an important role in history.

Co-creation: developed together, experienced interactively

The “wittenwalk” app was created through close collaboration between historians, developers, and the creative minds of Class 8c at the Hundertwasser Gymnasium. In this way, Wittenberg’s history was brought to life in an innovative and playful way.

A big thank you

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who contributed to the creation of the "wittenwalk" app. This co-creation approach – with ideas and feedback from the Wittenberg community and the ethics course of class 9b at the Hundertwasser-Gymnasium flowing into the development process – made this project something truly special.

Thanks to an agile way of working, with teams collaborating flexibly in short development cycles, we were able to continuously adapt and improve the app. The result is a lively, interactive app that makes Wittenberg's history tangible in a modern way.
